SHORT DESCRIPTION
Birding in Ethiopia is an incredible 12-day adventure that takes you to some of the best birding sites in the country. You'll visit the Bale Mountains, Lake Awasa, Lake Ziway, the Rift Valley Lakes, the Jemma Valley, and the Simien Mountains National Park, among other sites. You'll have the opportunity to see a wide variety of bird species, including endemic and rare species such as the Ethiopian Wolf, Wattled Ibis, Rouget's Rail, and Blue-winged Goose. You'll also have the chance to see beautiful and colorful birds like the Lilac-breasted Roller, the Abyssinian Roller, and the Golden-breasted Starling. The tour is led by experienced and knowledgeable guides who will take you to the best birding spots and provide information on the birds and their behavior. ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa and touring
The tour starts with a pick up from the airport/hotel, and then, drive up to the Entoto Mountains, the best location to observe the panoramic view of the capital. It is also a historical place where Menelik II resided and built his palace. It is notable as the location of a number of celebrated churches, including Saint Raguel and Saint Mary (Maryam Church). After a relaxed lunch, you will have Birding in the ground of Ghion Hotel and find wide enchanting gardens filled with indigenous flora and a stunning collection of birds including the endemic Wattled Ibis.

Day 4: Birding around the Ali Dege Plains
Day 5: Drive to Adama
Day 6: Drive to Dinsho, Bale Mountains National Park Headquarter – Goba
Day 7: Drive to the Sanetti Plateau
Day 8: Harenna Forest
Day 9: Bale – Lake Hawassa
Day 10: Drive to the Great Rift Valley Lakes
Day 11: Langano and area
